Tent Camping

Tent camping is probably the easiest and most fun when enjoying the outdoors.  You will find that most campgrounds are setup with many more spaces for tent camping than for an RV.  My first experience in tent camping was with the boy scouts; the tent wasn’t the greatest but it did provide shelter.  When looking for that perfect tent for camping you will find many options and features.  In order for your tent camping experience to be fun, get a tent one size larger than you need.  This allows you a little extra room to move around and provide space for clothing.  Once you’ve identified the camp site and spot for the tent the setup should be pretty easy. Most come with detailed instructions. Camping World - RV & Camping Experts Since 1966

Unless you have been tent camping before or are going with others that have, meals can be interesting.  You may want to keep it simple with cereal and milk for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and maybe hotdogs or hamburgers for dinner.  Many campgrounds do not provide many cooking options for those camping in tents.  You may find a pit for a campfire or a grill area for cooking.  You can always bring your own small barbeque grill or camping stove; both work well for tent camping or any other for that matter.  These items will expand your consideration for meals during your trip. Most tent camping sites will have a picnic table and benches for your dining area.

Having an understanding of the weather forecast for your trip will only insure your tent camping trip will be successful. The daytime temps could be fine but they could drop when the sun goes down and you are no longer next to the campfire.  I can remember one tent camping trip where we were caught in the rain; fortunately we had a tarp to gather under until the rain blew over.  I have always found tent camping to be very relaxing.  There are many activity options for you such as playing games, bike rides, fishing, or just reading.  There is just as much fun camping with a group of friends where you can share some of the cooking chores, learn from some of their past trips or come across some equipment that you would like to have on your next tent camping trip.
